a u x e S f o s c i t s i Stat The Center for Disease Control and Prevention National for Injury Prevention and Control state (Collins-Gousby & Findlay, 2009) 5.3 million incidents of domestic violence occur each year among United states women age 18 and older Violence results about 2 million injuries and about 1,300 deaths. Domestic Violence also comes with a price $:

The cost of domestic violence against women is estimated to be $5.8 billion every single year. $4.1 billion for medical and mental health and $1.8 billion in the indirect cost of lost productivity. (Collins-Gousby & Findlay, 2009) e c n e l o i V l a u Causes of Sex Domestic Violence in a Household Many women for a long period of time have been victims domestic violence from their husbands.

The article Understanding Violence Against Women mentions: Males have the privilege to their womens bodies because they are married (Krishnaraj. M, 2007 p.90). In some cultures and religions masculinity express itself in the context of marriage through sexual demands (Krishnaraj. M, 2007 p.90). This gender inequalities are creating no voice for a married women or their children and getting beating by their husband or father. The Cycle It is shown that about 70% of kids who are abused or who witness violence in their home will then grow up and continue the cycle in their household(Beckys Fund, 2009). The possibility of domestic violence for women who were exposed to violence

can become victims again(Kelso, 2008, p.19-20) Beckys Fund.2009. The DV Cycle What is being done to address this issue? We should start talking about this secret sexual violence most of our population is ashamed and shut down because they dont want to be judge. Its never too young to learn a proper way of behaving with someone in a relationship. Children learn from their parents and if they observe violent and abusive parents they will provide that later in their lifetime and project the same violent cycle. Instead of allowing the intergenerational cycle of domestic violence to be perpetuated in our homes and families, we should be teaching our young people that there is no excuse for abuse (Collins-Gousby & Findlay, 2009).
