Sexual harassment can occur between any individuals, any sex or gender New York Law protects employees, interns, and nonemployees including volunteers Sexual harassment can be caused by: Coworker or fellow volunteer of recipient Supervisor Any third party including non-employee, volunteer, intern, vendor, security, client or visitor. Two Types of Sexual Harassment

Hostile Environment harassment directed at an individual because of that individuals sex, sexual orientation, self-identified or perceived sex, gender expression, gender identity and the status of being transgender. Quid Pro Quo harassment when a person in authority grants or denies better conditions in exchange for sexual favors

Where Can Workplace Sexual Harassment Occur? Where people are fulfilling work or volunteer responsibilities Off-site or off-hour activities can be extensions of the CCE environment Harassment can occur through calls, texts, email and social media Harassing behavior that affects the CCE environment is the concern of CCE management Sex Stereotyping

When conduct or personality traits are considered inappropriate if they dont conform Harassment because person is performing a job that is usually done by a different sex Harassment because person does not conform to gender stereotypes as to appropriate looks, speech, personality, or lifestyle Reporting Your Concerns
